Oven Roasted Garlic Cabbage Steaks (Print Version)

Crispy cabbage slices roasted with garlic and herbs until caramelized and tender - a surprisingly delicious vegetarian side dish.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 large green or red cabbage
02 - 3 tablespoons olive oil
03 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
04 - 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
05 - ½ teaspoon onion powder
06 - ½ teaspoon dried thyme
07 - 1 teaspoon salt
08 - ½ teaspoon black pepper
09 - Optional toppings: grated Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, or fresh parsley

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
02 - Remove any wilted or damaged outer leaves from the cabbage. Using a sharp knife, slice the cabbage into ¾-inch thick rounds or steaks, keeping the core intact to hold the slices together.
03 - In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
04 - Brush the mixture generously onto both sides of each cabbage steak, ensuring even coating for maximum flavor.
05 - Arrange the cabbage steaks on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25 minutes or until the edges are crispy and caramelized.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For an added kick, sprinkle red pepper flakes or grated Parmesan cheese over the cabbage steaks before serving.
