Peel sweet potatoes and cut them into uniform chunks. Transfer to a large saucepan and cover with cold water.

Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, or until sweet potatoes are fork-tender. Drain thoroughly.

Return the drained sweet potatoes to the pot, then mash with a potato masher or hand blender until completely smooth.

While still warm, add unsalted butter and honey to the mashed sweet potatoes, mixing until melted and well combined.

Gradually pour in milk or cream, stirring until the desired creamy consistency is achieved. Blend in salt and ground cinnamon.
