Dandelion Honey (Print Version)

A delightful syrup made from dandelion flowers that mimics honey's sweetness with unique floral notes.

# Ingredients:

01 - Fresh dandelion heads, free from pesticides and chemicals
02 - Water
03 - Granulated sugar

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Pick fresh dandelion heads from a clean area, avoiding places treated with chemicals or frequented by pets.
02 - Rinse the dandelion heads thoroughly to remove dirt or insects. Optionally, remove the green parts to reduce bitterness.
03 - Place the cleaned dandelion heads in a saucepan and cover them with water. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 30 minutes.
04 - Strain the liquid through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into another container, discarding the solids.
05 - Return the strained liquid to the saucepan. For every cup of liquid, add an equal amount of granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
06 - Simmer the mixture until it reaches a syrupy consistency, keeping in mind it will thicken further as it cools.
07 - Pour the hot syrup into sterilized glass jars and seal them. Allow them to cool at room temperature.
08 - The dandelion honey is ready to use once cooled. It can be enjoyed on toast, pancakes, or as a sweetener in teas.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Always ensure the dandelions collected are not exposed to pesticides or chemicals. Consult local foraging guidelines for wild plants.
