Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.

In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon together.

Brush the rolled-out pastry with the melted butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture generously over the surface.

Cut the dough into 1-inch wide strips. Twist each strip several times, then place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Brush each twist with an egg wash (optional) and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.
