01 - 225 g unsalted butter, softened to room temperature (or dairy-free alternative)
02 - 150 g granulated sugar
03 - 150 g brown sugar
04 - 1 large egg
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
06 - 312 g all-purpose flour (may substitute with gluten-free flour)
07 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
08 - 0.5 teaspoon salt

# How to Make It:

01 - Using an electric mixer, beat softened unsalted butter with granulated and brown sugar until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
02 - Add egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture. Mix thoroughly until fully combined.
03 - In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
04 - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring gently until a soft dough forms.
05 - Wrap dough securely in plastic wrap and refrigerate for a minimum of 30 minutes to firm.
06 - Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
07 - Scoop chilled dough into uniform balls and, if desired, roll lightly in granulated sugar. Place at intervals on prepared baking sheet.
08 - Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are set and centers remain soft. Allow to cool on tray for several minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
