Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Brisket (Print Version)

Incredibly tender beef brisket seasoned with smoky spices and slow-cooked to perfection, then smothered in tangy barbecue sauce.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 2 to 3 pounds beef brisket

→ Spices and Seasonings

02 - 1 Tablespoon dried thyme leaves
03 - 1 Tablespoon paprika
04 - 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
05 - 2 teaspoons salt
06 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
07 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
08 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

→ Liquids

09 - 1 cup water
10 - 1 ½ teaspoons liquid smoke flavoring
11 - 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
12 - 1 bottle (18 ounces) barbecue sauce

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Combine thyme, paprika, black pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, and ground cumin in a small bowl. Rub the spice mixture over the entire surface of the brisket.
02 - Pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of a 7-quart slow cooker. Place the spice-covered brisket into the water.
03 - Pour liquid smoke and Worcestershire sauce over the top of the brisket. Cover with a lid and cook on Low heat for 8 to 10 hours.
04 - Once cooking is complete, carefully transfer the brisket to a large platter. Remove the fat layer from the bottom of the brisket and discard. Shred the brisket using forks.
05 - Return the shredded brisket to the slow cooker. Pour barbecue sauce over the top and gently stir. Cover with the lid and cook for an additional 30 minutes, or until the sauce is thoroughly heated. Serve warm.
