01 -
In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck, sour cream, ranch dressing mix, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix until well combined. Use your hands or a sturdy spoon to mix thoroughly but avoid overmixing to prevent tough burgers.
02 -
Divide the mixture into 6 evenly sized patties. Use a burger press or a container lid for uniform thickness. Create a small dimple in the center of each patty to help prevent puffing during cooking. Wet your hands with cold water to avoid the meat sticking while forming the patties.
03 -
Grill or pan-fry the patties over medium heat until they reach your desired doneness: 130-135°F for medium-rare, 140-145°F for medium, or 160°F for well done. Avoid pressing down on the patties while cooking to retain their juices. Preheat the grill or skillet for optimal cooking, and let the burgers rest for a few minutes after grilling.
04 -
Place the cooked patties on your favorite hamburger buns. Add lettuce, tomato, mustard, mayo, or other preferred toppings such as pickles, onions, or avocado. For additional texture, toast the buns beforehand.
