One Pot Kielbasa Pasta (Print Version)

A hearty one-pot dinner combining smoky kielbasa, pasta, and melted cheese that's ready in just 30 minutes.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 tbsp olive oil
02 - 1 lb smoked kielbasa or turkey/chicken sausage, sliced 1/4 inch thick
03 - 1.5 cups diced onion
04 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
06 - 1 10 oz can diced tomatoes
07 - 8 oz dry small pasta
08 - 1/2 cup milk or heavy cream
09 - 1/2 tsp salt
10 - 1/2 tsp black pepper
11 - 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
12 - 1/3 cup thinly sliced scallions, for garnish

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Add olive oil to a 4-5 quart sauté pan over medium-high heat.
02 - Fry the smoked kielbasa and onions until browned. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
03 - Add chicken broth, diced tomatoes, milk or heavy cream, dry pasta, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.
04 - Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the pasta is tender.
05 - Remove skillet from heat. Stir in 1/2 cup of shredded Cheddar cheese until melted.
06 - Top with the remaining cheese and cover. Let sit until cheese is melted, spotty brown, and bubbly. Sprinkle with sliced scallions and serve immediately.
