Old Fashioned Pound Cake (Print Version)

A dense, buttery classic made with just butter, sugar, eggs and flour - perfect for topping with fruit or whipped cream.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (2 sticks)
02 - 2 cups all-purpose flour
03 - 2 cups granulated sugar
04 - 6 large eggs, room temperature

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
02 - Grease and flour a tube pan.
03 - Cream the butter and sugar together until the mixture is light in color, resembling a pale yellow.
04 - Add the eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition until fully incorporated.
05 - Slowly incorporate the flour into the mixture one 1/2 cup at a time.
06 - Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
07 - Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Remove from the pan to a wire rack and let it cool completely.
