                In a large saucepan, combine mulberries, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon (if using), and water.

                Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture starts to boil.

                Reduce heat and simmer gently for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the jam thickens and reaches a gel-like consistency.

                To test, place a small spoonful on a chilled plate; if it wrinkles when pushed with your finger, the jam is ready.

                Remove from heat and let cool slightly before transferring to sterilized jars. Seal jars and refrigerate after opening.
