Homemade Cranberry Sauce 15 Minutes (Print-Friendly Version)

Bright cranberries simmered with sugar deliver a tangy, vibrant sauce ready in just fifteen minutes.

# Ingredients List:

→ Main Components

01 - 340 grams fresh or frozen cranberries
02 - 200 grams granulated sugar
03 - 120 millilitres water or orange juice

→ Optional Enhancements

04 - 1.25 millilitres ground cinnamon
05 - Finely grated zest of 1 orange

# How to Make It:

01 - In a medium saucepan, stir together granulated sugar and water or orange juice until the sugar dissolves completely.
02 - Place saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a rolling boil.
03 - Add cranberries to the boiling liquid. Allow mixture to return to a boil.
04 - Lower heat to medium-low. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cranberries will burst and the mixture will begin to thicken.
05 - Continue cooking until most cranberries have popped and the sauce reaches your preferred thickness.
06 - Remove saucepan from heat. Allow sauce to cool before transferring to a serving dish or storing in the refrigerator.

# Extra Tips:

01 - The sauce continues to thicken as it cools; a slightly runny appearance when hot is normal.
02 - Prepared sauce can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to seven days.
