Healthy Cinnamon Apples (Print Version)

Sweet apple slices simmered with cinnamon and spices, perfect as a versatile fall treat for dessert, snack, or side dish.

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 pounds apples, cored and sliced into 8 wedges
02 - 2 tablespoons butter
03 - 1/4 cup apple juice
04 - 1/4 cup sugar-free sweetener or honey
05 - 2 teaspoons cinnamon
06 - 1/2 teaspoon allspice
07 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
08 - 2-3 teaspoons arrowroot, organic cornstarch, or 1 teaspoon glucomannan
09 - 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Place the apples and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Toss until butter has melted and is coating the apples.
02 - Mix apple juice, sweetener, cinnamon, allspice, and salt, then pour over the apples. Toss to coat. Cover with a lid and simmer on medium-low heat for around 5 minutes.
03 - Uncover and toss the apples. Either simmer until thickened on its own or add arrowroot, cornstarch, or glucomannan and toss quickly to thicken.
04 - Stir in apple cider vinegar and serve hot.
