Ham Cheese Puff Pastry Squares (Print Version)

Flaky puff pastry squares with savory ham and melted cheese, golden-baked to crispy perfection in just 20 minutes.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
02 - 4 slices ham
03 - 4 slices cheddar cheese
04 - 1 egg, beaten
05 - 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
06 - 1 teaspoon poppy seeds, optional
07 - Salt and pepper to taste
08 - Flour for dusting

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the puff pastry sheet to approximately 30×30 cm.
03 - Cut the puff pastry into 16 equal squares using a sharp knife.
04 - Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each square.
05 - Place a slice of ham followed by a slice of cheddar cheese on half of the squares.
06 - Cover with the remaining squares, pressing the edges gently to seal.
07 - Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds if desired.
08 - Season the squares with salt and pepper.
09 - Transfer the squares to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
10 - Remove the squares from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
