Garlic Butter Pan Pork Chops (Print-Friendly Version)

Pork chops seared in garlic butter with herbs and paprika, quick and savory for a satisfying dinner.

# Ingredients List:

01 - 2 pork chops, bone-in or boneless, approximately 2.5 cm thick
02 - 3 garlic cloves, minced or finely chopped
03 - 30 grams unsalted butter
04 - 15 millilitres olive oil
05 - Salt, to taste
06 - Black pepper, to taste
07 - 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
08 - Fresh parsley or thyme, chopped, for garnish (optional)

# How to Make It:

01 - Trim excess fat and thoroughly pat the pork chops dry with paper towels for optimal searing.
02 - Generously season both sides of the pork chops with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika if using.
03 - Preheat a cast iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and allow it to heat until shimmering.
04 - Place the pork chops in the hot pan, ensuring they are not crowded. Sear for 3 to 4 minutes per side, developing a golden-brown crust. Minimise flipping for best results.
05 - Reduce heat to medium and add unsalted butter to the pan. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic and baste the pork chops with the garlic butter for 1 to 2 minutes.
06 - Verify the internal temperature of the pork with a meat thermometer; it should reach 63°C. Transfer the chops to a plate and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving.
07 - Sprinkle with freshly chopped herbs if desired and serve immediately.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Resting the pork after cooking ensures juiciness and allows internal juices to redistribute.
