French Onion Butter Rice (Print Version)

Indulgent rice infused with French onion soup and butter, baked to golden perfection for an elevated side dish everyone will love.

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup long grain white rice, uncooked
02 - 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed French onion soup
03 - 1 can (10.5 oz) beef broth or water with beef bouillon
04 - ½ cup unsalted butter, sliced into pats
05 - 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped (optional)
06 - Salt and pepper, to taste
07 - Chopped parsley or shredded cheese (optional garnish)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease your baking dish.
02 - In the baking dish, combine the rice, French onion soup, beef broth, and chopped onions (if using). Stir to evenly distribute.
03 - Place the butter slices evenly across the top of the rice mixture. This ensures it melts evenly and infuses every bite with flavor.
04 - Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
05 - After 30 minutes, remove the foil and bake uncovered for another 20–25 minutes until the liquid is absorbed and the top is golden and slightly crisp.
06 - Let sit for a few minutes, then fluff gently with a fork. Garnish as desired and serve warm.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Use long-grain rice – It holds up well during baking without turning mushy
02 - Don’t skip the foil – It traps steam and helps the rice cook evenly
03 - Let it rest after baking for at least 5 minutes before serving
04 - Taste and adjust seasoning – Add extra salt or a dash of garlic powder if needed
