Crack Green Beans with Bacon (Print-Friendly Version)

Green beans baked with crispy bacon, sweet brown sugar, and a touch of soy sauce for irresistible flavor.

# Ingredients List:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 900 g fresh green beans (or 2 cans, French-style, thoroughly drained)
02 - 6 slices bacon, cooked until crisp
03 - 110 g brown sugar
04 - 60 g unsalted butter, melted
05 - 60 ml soy sauce
06 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder

# How to Make It:

01 - Set oven to 190°C and allow to fully preheat.
02 - In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon slices until crisp. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and set aside.
03 - In a saucepan, melt unsalted butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic powder until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
04 - In a baking dish, add the drained green beans. Reserve a small portion of crispy bacon. Toss the majority of the bacon with the beans in the dish.
05 - Evenly pour the prepared buttery sauce over the green bean and bacon mixture.
06 - Sprinkle the reserved bacon over the top of the beans.
07 - Place dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges caramelize and the sauce is bubbling.
08 - For enhanced caramelization, broil for an additional 3 minutes, watching closely.

# Extra Tips:

01 - For larger groups, double all portions but maintain an even layer so the beans caramelize rather than steam. Do not overcrowd the baking dish.
