Cowboy Casserole Tater Tots (Print-Friendly Version)

Ground beef, bacon, and tater tots bake together with creamy cheddar for a comforting family meal.

01 - 225 grams ground beef (85% lean, 15% fat)
02 - 170 grams sweet corn kernels
03 - 150 grams condensed cream of mushroom soup
04 - 115 grams cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
05 - 80 millilitres whole milk
06 - 60 grams sour cream
07 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
08 - 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
09 - 60 grams cooked bacon, crumbled
10 - 900 grams frozen tater tots

# How to Make It:

01 - Set oven temperature to 190°C.
02 - Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking apart with a spatula, until browned and fully cooked.
03 - Stir corn, condensed cream of mushroom soup, 60 grams cheddar cheese, milk, sour cream, onion powder, black pepper, and crumbled bacon into the cooked beef. Mix until evenly combined.
04 - Transfer beef mixture into a 23x33 cm baking dish. Spread mixture evenly. Arrange remaining cheddar cheese over the top, then line the surface with tater tots in a single layer.
05 - Place baking dish uncovered on middle oven rack and bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until tater tots are crisp and golden.
06 - Remove casserole from oven, sprinkle remaining shredded cheddar cheese over the tater tots, and return to oven. Bake an additional 5 minutes until cheese is melted.

01 - For extra flavour, substitute a portion of cheddar cheese with smoked cheese or add diced jalapeños to the filling.
