                In a julep cup or rocks glass, combine the mint leaves and simple syrup. Lightly press with a muddler to release the mint's essential oils without crushing the leaves.

                Pour the bourbon into the glass and fill it with crushed ice.

                Stir the mixture well to combine. Garnish with additional mint sprigs and serve immediately.
