Golden toffee with chocolate and nuts captures classic holiday flavors in each irresistible bite.

# Ingredients List:

01 - 225 g unsalted butter
02 - 200 g granulated sugar
03 - 30 ml water
04 - 0.25 tsp salt
05 - 5 ml vanilla extract
06 - 170 g semi-sweet chocolate chips
07 - 120 g chopped toasted almonds or pecans (optional)

# How to Make It:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat and set aside.
02 - In a medium saucepan, combine butter, sugar, water, and salt. Heat over medium, stirring constantly, until butter is fully melted and the mixture begins to boil.
03 - Attach a candy thermometer to the pan. Continue cooking, stirring gently, until the mixture reaches 150°C and turns golden brown.
04 - Immediately remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
05 - Carefully pour the hot toffee onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
06 - While toffee is still hot, sprinkle chocolate chips over the surface. Allow them to melt, then spread evenly with an offset spatula.
07 - Sprinkle chopped toasted almonds or pecans over the melted chocolate and press gently to adhere.
08 - Let cool completely at room temperature or refrigerate to set. Once firm, break into pieces for serving.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Utilize a candy thermometer for best results.
02 - Avoid scraping the pan sides after pouring, as crystallized sugar causes graininess.
03 - Continuous stirring ensures even cooking and prevents scorching.
04 - A light sprinkle of sea salt on top creates an elevated flavor.
05 - For gifting, wrap cooled pieces in cellophane or store in decorative tins.
