# Ingredients:

→ Filling

01 - 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
02 - 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
03 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
04 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
05 - 1 tablespoon dried parsley
06 - 1 teaspoon salt
07 - 1 teaspoon black pepper
08 - 3 tablespoons melted butter

→ Dough

09 - 1 package crescent roll dough

→ Coating (optional)

10 - 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
11 - 1 large egg, beaten

→ Creamy Parmesan Sauce

12 - 4 tablespoons butter
13 - 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
14 - 1 cup whole milk
15 - 1/2 cup heavy cream
16 - 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
17 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
18 - 1 teaspoon salt
19 - 1 teaspoon black pepper

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, mix the shredded chicken, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, salt, pepper, and melted butter until the filling is well combined.
03 - Roll out the crescent dough and cut it into squares. Place a spoonful of the chicken filling in the center of each square. Fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges, creating a pillow shape.
04 - Brush the pillows with a beaten egg, and if desired, sprinkle them with the panko breadcrumbs for an extra crispy texture.
05 - Arrange the Chicken Pillows on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18-22 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and flaky.
06 - While the Chicken Pillows are baking, prepare the creamy Parmesan sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, then stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes. Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream until the mixture is smooth. Add the Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and cook until the sauce has thickened.
07 - Once the Chicken Pillows are golden and crispy, drizzle the warm, creamy Parmesan sauce over the top and serve immediately.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For the best texture, use cooked and shredded chicken rather than cubed or diced.
02 - Feel free to experiment with different dried herbs and spices to customize the filling to your taste. Fresh parsley or chives also make a delicious addition.
03 - The panko breadcrumbs provide an amazing crispy exterior, but they’re entirely optional. If you prefer a softer texture, you can skip this step.
04 - Keep a close eye on the Parmesan sauce while it’s thickening, stirring frequently to prevent lumps. You can adjust the consistency by adding more or less milk or cream.
