→ Filling

04 - 680 grams lean ground beef
05 - 1 red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
06 - 1 yellow onion, chopped
07 - 28 grams taco seasoning mix

→ Topping

08 - 120 grams sour cream
09 - 120 grams mayonnaise
10 - 113 grams diced green chiles, drained
11 - 170 grams cheddar cheese, fiesta blend, shredded, divided
12 - 5 grams garlic powder
13 - 120 grams mild salsa

# How to Make It:

01 - Set oven temperature to 175°C. Allow to preheat fully before continuing.
02 - In a mixing bowl, combine biscuit mix and water. Mix by hand or with a spoon until a uniform soft dough forms. Lightly coat a baking dish with cooking spray and press dough evenly across the bottom and to the edges of the dish.
03 - Bake the prepared base in the preheated oven for 5 to 8 minutes, or until just set and lightly golden. Remove from oven but keep oven on.
04 - Heat a skillet over medium-high. Add ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks. Sauté until no longer pink, then drain excess fat.
05 - Add chopped red bell pepper and chopped yellow onion to the cooked beef. Stir and cook for 4 minutes. Sprinkle in taco seasoning, mixing thoroughly. Remove from heat.
06 - Evenly distribute the beef and vegetable mixture over the pre-baked biscuit base.
07 - Combine sour cream, mayonnaise, drained green chiles, 85 grams shredded cheese, and garlic powder in a medium bowl. Mix until smooth.
08 - Spread the sour cream mixture evenly over the beef layer.
09 - Dot the surface with spoonfuls of mild salsa; sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese evenly on top.
10 - Bake uncovered at 175°C for 30 minutes or until heated through and top is bubbly and golden.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Allow the casserole to rest for 10 minutes after baking for easier slicing and serving.
