Tender baked fritters packed with apples and cinnamon, finished with a sweet citrus glaze for extra flavor.

# Ingredients List:

→ Fritters

01 - 2 medium firm apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced
02 - 190 grams all-purpose flour
03 - 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
04 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
05 - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
06 - 100 grams granulated sugar
07 - 120 millilitres whole milk
08 - 1 large egg
09 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Glaze

10 - 120 grams powdered sugar
11 - 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
12 - 5–10 millilitres water, as needed for consistency

# How to Make It:

01 - Peel, core, and dice apples into small, even chunks. Toss pieces with a pinch of cinnamon and sugar to enhance their flavor, then set aside.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and granulated sugar until fully combined for a uniform distribution of flavors.
03 - In a separate bowl, beat the egg. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until smooth and cohesive.
04 - Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with dry ingredients. Gently mix until just combined to maintain a light batter. Carefully fold in diced apples, being mindful not to overmix.
05 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Spoon portions of batter onto the sheet, spacing apart. Bake in a fully preheated oven at 190°C for 15–18 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
06 - While fritters bake, whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice and just enough water to create a smooth, pourable glaze.
07 - Allow fritters to cool slightly on a wire rack. Drizzle glaze generously over each fritter. Serve warm for optimal texture and flavor.

# Extra Tips:

01 - Select apples that are firm and not overly ripe for the best bite and structure.
02 - Mix batter only until ingredients are just incorporated to avoid dense fritters.
03 - Preheat oven thoroughly before baking to ensure even rise and browning.
04 - Line the baking sheet with parchment to prevent sticking and promote even baking.
05 - For an ideal glaze, add water or lemon juice only a few drops at a time until the desired drizzling consistency is reached.
