Yellow Squash with Cheese (Print Version)

Tender yellow squash slices layered with cheddar and parmesan cheese, seasoned with garlic and baked until golden and bubbly.

# Ingredients:

→ Vegetables

01 - 2 medium Yellow Squash, sliced into 1/2 inch rounds

→ Cheeses

02 - 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
03 - 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated

→ Oils and Seasonings

04 - 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
05 - 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
06 - Salt, to taste
07 - Pepper, to taste

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure even cooking and a golden-brown finish.
02 - Wash the yellow squash thoroughly and slice them into even rounds about half an inch thick for uniform cooking.
03 - In a large mixing bowl, toss the sliced squash with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well coated.
04 - In a greased baking dish, arrange half of the seasoned squash slices in a single layer. Sprinkle a generous amount of cheddar cheese and a little parmesan cheese over the top. Layer the remaining squash slices and repeat the cheese layering.
05 - Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Ensure your squash slices are uniform in thickness for even cooking.
02 - Experiment with different cheese types like mozzarella or gouda for flavor variation.
03 - Allow the dish to cool slightly before serving to help the cheese set.
04 - Using fresh and seasonal squash yields the best flavor and texture.
05 - Monitor the dish towards the end of baking to avoid over-browning.
