Smoky sausage and fluffy rice combine with sweet-tangy BBQ sauce in this quick one-pan meal that's ready in just 35 minutes.

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 lb smoked sausage (kielbasa or andouille), sliced
02 - 1 1/2 cups uncooked long-grain rice
03 - 1 medium onion, finely chopped
04 - 2 cloves garlic, minced

→ Liquids and Seasonings

05 - 2 tbsp olive oil
06 - 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
07 - 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
08 - 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional)
09 - Salt and pepper to taste

→ Garnish

10 - Chopped green onions or parsley (optional garnish)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the sausage slices until browned. Remove and set aside.
02 - In the same pan, add the remaining oil if needed. Sauté the chopped onion for 5 minutes until translucent.
03 - Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
04 - Add uncooked rice to the pan. Stir to coat and toast for 2–3 minutes until lightly golden.
05 - Pour in the chicken broth, barbecue sauce, and soy sauce. Scrape the bottom of the pan to deglaze.
06 - Return the sausage to the pan. Bring to a simmer, cover, and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for 18–20 minutes, stirring once halfway, until the rice is cooked.
07 - Turn off the heat and let the dish sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork and season to taste.
08 - Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley before serving.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For a more intense flavor, use andouille sausage and your favorite tangy barbecue sauce.
