Beef-Stuffed Shells with Ricotta (Print Version)

Jumbo pasta shells stuffed with seasoned ground beef and a creamy three-cheese filling, baked in marinara until bubbly.

# Ingredients:

01 - 20 jumbo pasta shells
02 - 1 pound ground beef
03 - 1 small onion, finely chopped
04 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
05 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
06 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
07 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
08 - 1 cup ricotta cheese
09 - 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
10 - 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
11 - 1 large egg
12 - 2 cups marinara sauce
13 - 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
14 - Fresh basil, for garnish

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
02 - Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
03 - In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
04 - Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
05 - Stir in the Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
06 - In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, and egg until well combined.
07 - Stir the cooled beef mixture into the ricotta filling.
08 - Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
09 - Fill each cooked shell with the beef and ricotta mixture and place in the baking dish.
10 - Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells and sprinkle with the additional mozzarella cheese.
11 - Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for another 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
12 - Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
