Apple Fritter Bites (Print Version)

Golden-fried bites packed with fresh apples and finished with cinnamon sugar or a sweet vanilla glaze.

# Ingredients:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
02 - 2 tablespoons sugar
03 - 1 teaspoon cinnamon
04 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
05 - ½ teaspoon salt

→ Wet Ingredients

06 - ⅔ cup milk
07 - 2 eggs
08 - 1 tablespoon canola oil
09 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Filling

10 - 3 cups peeled, cored, and diced apples

→ Cinnamon Sugar Mixture

11 - 1 cup sugar
12 - 1–2 tablespoons cinnamon, adjust to taste

→ Glaze

13 - 1 cup powdered sugar
14 - 2 tablespoons milk
15 - ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Pour oil about 2 inches deep into an electric skillet and preheat to 375°F.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt. Add milk, eggs, vanilla, and oil. Mix until smooth. Fold in diced apples evenly.
03 - Using a small or medium cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil. Fry in small batches for about 5 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown.
04 - Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture or coat with the powdered sugar glaze while still warm.
05 - Allow the glaze to set before serving. Enjoy warm!
